All Interlibrary Loan - related services have been restored

Great news, ILL-related services have been fully restored:

• Interlibrary Loan
• Campus  Book Delivery (only for UNCG faculty and staff)
• Document Delivery (only for UNCG graduate students, faculty, and staff)
• Distance Education loans (free book shipping for UNCG distance education and online students who live outside of Guilford County)

You should be able to request these services from the ILL page and from your usual shortcuts (a webpage showing that we don't own an article or book).

This UNCG webinar series (click this link for more information on webinar series) is for UNCG students, staff, faculty, instructors, and librarians.  The series will cover topics on library resources and research tools.

UNCG Libraries and the UTLC (University Teaching and Learning Commons) present a new webinar series on "Online Learning and Innovation."

This webinar series is for UNCG faculty, instructors, librarians, TAs, and staff interested in learning more about instructional technology and online learning at UNCG. Some of the topics included are online learning pedagogies, UNCG instructional technology tools (Canvas, Google, Box, etc), and more.

How do I find a health policy? For nursing students

Different people use the word policy to mean different things.  As always, it helps me if you can let me know if this is for a specific course and also what kinds of documents you're trying to find.

The library guide for NUR 620 has some sources to get you starting finding a health policy.

I usually suggest that nurses start by looking at -

• the advocacy/legislation web page from a nursing organization-there are tons of organizations for different nursing specialties - the ANA has helpful pages
• a CINAHL search for articles about health policy in the U.S.  

If you've got a favorite place for looking over health policies, let me know!

The nursing libguide has my contact info and the "schedule appointment" button shows my availability.

Please note one of the nursing instructors has told me that part of the assignment is for you to find a policy yourselves.

Participants learn to search for possible funding opportunities, practice identifying eligibility, and realize the importance of key words.  Attendees will have opportunities to access databases and engage in searches related to their topic of interest. Presented by the Office of Sponsored Programs and University Libraries.

ILL, document delivery, campus book delivery

Hi all,

Interlibrary Loan and other delivery services are currently unavailable due to a technical problem with the system and also due to the unexpected loss of a staff member.

The problems have been reported and these services should resume soon.

Catalog, check for full text links, other OCLC services down Sat Aug 5-Sun Aug 6

This is a reminder from OCLC, the company that supplies our library catalog/red search box, the journal list, and "check for full text" links that lead to article full text.

These systems will be down late Sat Aug 5 to early Sun Aug 6.

No library e-resources from 7 am-9 am on Weds 8/2

Hi all,

I just got this message from IT staff:  the libraries' proxy server will be upgraded tomorrow morning from 7 am - 9 am.

Library e-resources (like e-books, article databases, etc.) will not be accessible while this server is down.  IT staff will do their best to bring the system back online quickly.
