In memoriam: Gaylor Callahan

Some of you might have heard that Gaylor Callahan, a friend and coworker in Jackson Library, recently passed away.

Here is her obituary in the Greensboro News & Record.

In case you knew her and would like to pay your respects, the memorial service will take place Thursday, September 21st beginning at 3 pm in the Virginia Dare Room of the Alumni House, at 4:00 we will walk down College Avenue to Ashby Residential College at Mary Foust Hall for the rest of the event.

All Interlibrary Loan - related services have been restored

Great news, ILL-related services have been fully restored:

• Interlibrary Loan
• Campus  Book Delivery (only for UNCG faculty and staff)
• Document Delivery (only for UNCG graduate students, faculty, and staff)
• Distance Education loans (free book shipping for UNCG distance education and online students who live outside of Guilford County)

You should be able to request these services from the ILL page and from your usual shortcuts (a webpage showing that we don't own an article or book).

This webinar series is for UNCG faculty, instructors, librarians, TAs, and staff interested in learning more about instructional technology and online learning at UNCG. How do I find a health policy? For nursing students

Different people use the word policy to mean different things.  As always, it helps me if you can let me know if this is for a specific course and also what kinds of documents you're trying to find.

The library guide for NUR 620 has some sources to get you starting finding a health policy.

I usually suggest that nurses start by looking at -

• the advocacy/legislation web page from a nursing organization-there are tons of organizations for different nursing specialties - the ANA has helpful pages
• a CINAHL search for articles about health policy in the U.S.  

If you've got a favorite place for looking over health policies, let me know!

Please note one of the nursing instructors has told me that part of the assignment is for you to find a policy yourselves.
