DynaMed on iOS and Android devices

I just heard a great question - how can UNCG students and faculty get DynaMed onto a mobile device?

1. Start by downloading the DynaMed app from iTunes or Google Play

Authenticate the app (connect it to our UNCG subscription).  The fastest way to do this is -

2. Open the DynaMed website link from UNCG Libraries.

3. Click the link "Get the DynaMed Plus Mobile App" (lower right, under Spotlight) and enter your email address.

4. On your mobile device, open the email message with instructions and authentication for DynaMed Plus.  Click the authentication key" link in the message.

5. You'll be prompted to download content with or without images, in case you'd like to save space on your device.

Here are some helpful links:

Wiley Researcher Academy now available - create an account while on campus

Wiley Researcher Academy is now available!

It's an asynchronous teaching tool designed to guide grad students, post docs and even beginning faculty members through the scientific funding and writing process.

How can you access this resource?

You must be on campus the first time you use this website.

1. Click this link: https://library.uncg.edu/dbs/auth/go.aspx?vdbID=1518

2. Create a username and password or Wiley Researcher Academy (something new - this isn't your UNCG computing account and won't be synced with it)

After those steps, you should be able to access the website off campus by using the link above , signing in with your UNCG computing account, then signing in with the username and password that you created specifically for Wiley Researcher Academy.

RESOLVED - Interlibrary Loan currently unavailable

*** update *** ILL service is available again.  Thank goodness.

Hi all,

Interlibrary Loan services are currently unavailable.  Here is the information that I've gotten:

"For the time being, our system is down. I anticipate that your department will be contacted by patrons with questions/concerns. Patrons will receive an error message that reads, "This site cannot be reached: libids.uncg.edu refused to connect." Unfortunately, patrons will have to wait and submit their requests once the system is back online."

Thank you for your patience!

ICYMI - National Guidelines Clearinghouse website has been shut down

The National Guidelines Clearinghouse website has been shut down. Here's a statement from the AHRQ and reporting by CNN.

The National Guidelines Clearinghouse was a free website for locating clinical practice guidelines.  It didn't create the guidelines, but it was a helpful place to locate them.

If you've got a UNCG computing account, here are some options for locating practice guidelines -
If you're not affiliated with an institution that has these subscriptions, here's a good alternative -

TRIP database
  • a free "clinical search engine designed to allow users to quickly and easily find and use high-quality research evidence to support their practice and/or care"
  • type your topic, then on the left side of results click Guidelines to narrow your results
