Scopus!

We're welcoming Scopus to our list of library resources!
  • Guide to science, social science, and some arts & humanities literature
  • Peer reviewed, scholarly articles, trade articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and more!
  • Citation analysis
Check out the library guide to Scopus for more info.

And mark your calender!  Elsevier trainers will be giving an online orientation to this resource on Tues August 5th from 12-12:50 pm. Visit Jackson Library administrative conference room 216.

Want an intro directly from your subject librarian?  Just ask!

I'll be adding Scopus to library workshops for health science students and faculty; if you don't catch one, give me a shout.

Moving from Web of Science to Scopus

We're moving from Web of Science (subscription expires June 30th) to  Scopus (should have access in a week).

Scopus indexes twice as many titles as Web of Science, and includes over 99% of the titles that are indexed by the Web of Science.

Journal Citation Reports will expire with Web of Science, but many faculty currently use Google Scholar and Eigenfactor for citation analysis.

We plan to create a research guide for assistance with these sources.  We also plan to create a guide to Scopus and will offer training as needed.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact your liaison librarian, or Beth Bernhardt (brbernha@uncg.edu) or Tim Bucknall (bucknall@uncg.edu)
